Annie Heisey is a Pittsburgh-based artist and educator whose paintings grow out of a deep curiosity about how we see, understand, and trust the world around us. Through layered surfaces that both build space and quietly unravel it, her work reveals itself slowly, inviting viewers into images that feel immersive at first, then gently unstable, like a memory or a thought in motion. Painting becomes both subject and metaphor, asking us to pause and notice how meaning is constructed, not just on the canvas, but in daily life. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including at the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Boston Center for the Arts, and is held in public and private collections, offering collectors a contemplative, lasting presence that continues to unfold over time.
