Thomas is a fine art photographer whose work seamlessly blends alternative photographic processes with painting, resulting in both original artworks and limited-edition prints. Educated at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, Thomas developed a strong foundation in concept-driven work during his early career in the entertainment industry—a creative edge that continues to inform his evolving artistic practice.

Drawn to the timeless qualities of vintage tintypes—their warm tones, tactile metal surfaces, and the serendipitous softness produced by antique lenses—Thomas began exploring this process to create images with both intimacy and depth. His Illuminated Hand series exemplifies this fascination, presenting framed original tintypes with a striking presence. In The Mask series, he extends his practice by photographing subjects with a vintage camera, printing on canvas, and hand-painting each work to achieve a singular, one-of-a-kind expression. Under the Big Top further pushes the boundaries, beginning as a tintype before transforming into digital art. Currently showcased at Burghers Brewing in Zelienople is Gibsons Burgh Series. A conceptual homage to the beautiful city of Pittsburgh. His hand-crafted paintings fuse screen printed images with type to create an iconic black and gold aesthetic.

Most recently, Thomas has expanded into painting and mixed media, layering techniques and traditions to create dynamic, ever-evolving bodies of work. Across all mediums, his practice reflects both a reverence for historical processes and a contemporary vision that redefines their possibilities.
