Christopher Boring
Chris Boring’s plane paintings are visiting nostalgic tropes and focus on the feelings associated with memory. His work often connects to themes of memory, legacy, and the impact of time. The first paper airplane paintings represented hopes for a brighter future. More recent paintings like, Affirmation, are a note to himself reminding Chris where he came from, the principles he believes in, and, ultimately, concerning self-identity. The Entangled paintings take it one step further where the planes are being tied up and restricted to mirror the artist’s reflection of the contemporary political climate.
He is a Pittsburgh-based painter who has exhibited work in numerous galleries in the region. He has shown work in numerous galleries including the Erie Art Museum, State Museum of Pennsylvania, Lynchburg Center of the Arts, Zynka Gallery, and Colo Colo Gallery.
